Welcome to my first attempt at blogging for Glasgow Baking Club. As we all know, Bex left HUGE boots to fill in both her beautiful photography and way with words that seemed to bring everyone’s bakes to life, so here’s hoping I can do all your sweets and treats from our October meeting justice! Just remember, practice makes perfect!!
The wind and rain where blowing a gale on Tuesday 21st of October, so it was great to see so many people making the effort (both old and new members of the club) to come along to Felix and Oscar on Great Western Road for our Halloween and Guy Fox sweets and treats night, made all the more special with our guest speaker Joyce Brady from The Wee Fudge Company. Joyce was delighted to share her journey from long term Civil Servant to successful business woman, creating and selling delicious fudge from her home kitchen in the south side of Glasgow since 2012. Best of all, we didn’t need to take her word for how good the fudge was, as she brought plenty along for us to sample!!
To say our dentists would have had a field day would be an understatement as we made our way through every type of sweet imaginable. from treacle toffee, macaroon, chocolate truffles, tablet, fudge, tiffin, lolly pops with sherbet dip, to name but a few, its safe to say our night went with a BANG!!
