Zoe Clark Comes To Mrs Jones’ Kitchen

Exciting news for Glasgow Bakers!

The  multi-award winning cake decorator Zoe Clark,of Zoe Clark Cakes London, is coming to Mrs Jones’ kitchen in January 2013!

Not only are her cakes exquisite, she is also a best selling author of several superb baking and cake decorating books.

She will be teaching 2 exciting courses while in Glasgow.

First, on Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 January 2013 she will be teaching her fabulous ‘Mad Hatter Wonky Cake’ course .

This 2 day course usually costs £395, but in Mrs Jones’ kitchen the same course will cost £295… a bargain!

On Wednesday 23 January 2013 Zoe Clark will be teaching a Royal Iced Cookies class. This class has been tailored specially for Mrs Jones’ kitchen and will include lollipop biscuits, stunning teapots, teacups, hearts, butterflies and all things pretty.

So pretty!

This one day course usually costs £175 but is being run in Mrs Jones’ kitchen for £155.

East Meets West – The Scottish Cake-Off!

We thought we would start 2013 with a cracker of an event and are going to hold East Meets West – The Scottish Cake-Off.

Along with our friends in the East, the Edinburgh Cake Ladies, this joint event will take place on Sunday 20th January at 28 York Place, Edinburgh.

With our tongues very much in our cheeks, we will be having a ‘cake-off’ with our friends from the East to see who can produce the best ‘showstopper’ cake.
Why not start 2013 with a massive sugar high and dive in to a selection of the best cakes in Scotland?
The Edinburgh Cake Ladies have found a larger-than-normal venue to host lots of Glasgow Bakers, with the rest of the attendees made up of Edinburgh Cake Ladies.

What to bake

We want to see a showstopper cake from everyone attending that demonstrates the best of your baking ability.
We’re not going to be judging them seriously, but perhaps we will see who can produce the most amount of ‘wows’ in the room.
No cupcakes at this one please – we’re dreaming of a roomful of cakes!

How to get a place

If you want to join in on the baking fun, please send an email with your name, and what you would like to bake, to glasgowbakingclub@gmail.com, by December 01 2012.

The Edinburgh Cake Ladies will fill the rest of the places.
There are a total of 50 places available.
Well behaved children are welcome.
The venue is a relaxed hotel with a function room (which we will use) but any Glasgow Bakers that wish to do the journey with their partners/husbands/wives can leave them in the upstairs bar, where they’ll be kept company by friendly bar staff and a 42 inch TV on the sport channel.

When and where?

Date – 20th January 2013
Time – 2pm – 4pm
Where – 28 York Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3EP

As usual, teas, coffees and drinks will be purchased from the venue.
We will be setting up the room so that each table is a mixture of Glasgow Bakers and Edinburgh Cake Ladies. Let’s get to know each other over tea and cake!

Hi all, at our last event I had mentioned the possibility of organising a social event before Xmas. Unfortunately , due to personal circumstances, I am no longer able to plan this event.

The good news is, we have some exciting plans for an extra special event for January.
